Super World Indie Tune Of The Day: Decomposition makes me crumble.

Super World Indie Tune Of The Day 17.04.2020: Orouni – “Decomposition”.

If you thought Synaesthesia was a land in The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe you are dead wrong brother. It’s actually a morbid fear of synthesisers. Which is ironic given Orouni’s liberal use of these dreaded keyboards down the…[It’s not a fear of synthesisers. Ed].

Er…ok…start again. Synaesthesia is the production of a sense impression relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body. So for example, you might hear colours, or smell sounds and so on. This here tune “Decomposition” is about Mr. Orouni’s experience in this regard apparently. One of the greatest delights of returning from the Swilderness is finding this song. It’s my favourite by the artist so far, and that’s saying something. Cerebral and playful in lyric and melody, Orouni’s mastery of the English language would put most Englishers to shame. Emma Broughton’s vocals are a brilliant hue of yellow and orange and the keys of Nicolas Worms are sinuous, picking out a beautiful pattern on the stairways of my heart.

It’s from the equally delicious LP “Partitions” which is out now everywhere on December Square!
