The SWIT equivalent of waking up on Christmas morning is receiving an email from Morr Music. This time it’s to tell us the about the return of German Indie Heavyweights The Notwist and their stunning new EP – Ship. The eponymously named lead single – featuring Saya, singer of Tenniscoats and co – member of International super group Spirit Fest featuring The Notwist’s Markus Acher – is a pulsating hypnotic mash up of electarica – fresh and exciting.
2nd track – Loose Ends – is a wonderful ballad. Acher matches Yorke in heartfelt delivery and there’s real mastery at work in composition and musicianship.
The EP closes with Avalanche – a superb instrumental.
The Notwist deserve massive international attention and this EP – given the exposure – should get a lot of people interested.
