Super World Indie Tune Of the Day 18.07.2019: “Uncomfy” by I Drew Blank.
I Drew Blank produce lovely lo-fi melodic indie-pop tunes. “Uncomfy” is a case in point, albeit it left me in a kind of hazy shade of bliss. It does remind me a little of those early eighties new wave bands and the early nineties indie bands, so many great bands. It positively thrums (the steady thrum of rain on the windows)along, lovely harmonies, distilled sadness, elevated insouciance, it’s all here. Kinda makes me feel like I’m 25 again. Now that is something.
Bassist & singer Oyèmi Hessou (Jaguwar), guitarist & singer Dominik Jureschko (White Hand Gibbon) and drummer Eilis Frawley (Party Fears) make up I Drew Blank. Their new EP “Interesting Life Choices” is out now on Späti Palace.
