Super World Indie Tune Of the Day 02.07.2019: “Shut your Eyes and See” by Somehow.

Well now. This is definitely my SWIT tune of the year so far. “Shut your Eyes and See” is simple, elegant, impossibly melancholic and implausibly hopeful. The song resolves and revolves around a brilliant bassline but it’s the wonderful melody and sublime vocals from both Erwan himself and Aurélie Tremblay that really hooked me. I knew this was classic indie pop after listening for 20 seconds or so and it only got better from there. As Gerry would say “20 SWITS out of 10”. The tune is from the forthcoming (and now eagerly anticipated) LP “Low Tide” coming out on October 25th, 2019 via Toolong Records.
