Super World Indie Tune Of The Day: Ē are a shore thing

Super World Indie Tune Of the Day 18.06.2019: “Afraid Of The Ocean” by Ē.

Hello! This is “Afraid Of The Ocean” by Oslo-based Ē. The band are adept at writing lo-fi pop songs suffused with shadow and light. Looping rhythms, wiry guitars and world-weary, sugar-spun vocals combine to wonderful effect. “Afraid Of The Ocean” is our pick from their new EP which is called…er…ĒP. It’s an immediate hit here at SWIT towers, and everybody is humming along. The record is released via Bergen-based indie label Eget Selskap.

The band was formed in the summer of 2018 when Ingvild Nærum (Are You Having Fun Yet) and Chiara Cavallari (FOAMMM) got together.
Nærum is the band’s long-standing drummer and lead singer. Cavallari plays the guitar and takes vocal duties on some songs. Ē recently completed its lineup by adding experienced musician and songwriter Sigrun Sæbø Åland (Hysj) on bass. It’s a potent mix. We hope to interview the band in the coming weeks too so watch this space!
