Just Another Snake Cult – Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key

The band does say “Here’s a music video from a couple years ago that was never released.” Well, never say never because it’s been released now, and isn’t is simply smashing? I have to be honest, I hadn’t heard ” Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key” before. THe lyrics are by Woody Guthrie and the music was done by Billy Bragg at the request of the Guthrie estate. This is a beautiful cover. It put a smile on me on a miserable Monday evening too! Then again, it could be a murder ballad but I’m still smiling.

Just Another Snake Cult are Þórir and Helga and they’re hailing from Reykjavik, that shining bastion of culture and civilisation, far-flung out on the North Atlantic. Class jumpers too.
