Gdeto – Pillow Book
“Pillow Book” is the striking new EP from Gdeto* (the solo project of Aneliya from SWIT favourites CHKBNS). Combining ethereal vocals, fuzzy electronics, piano, chiming guitar and menacing electronic beats, it’s a remarkably coherent and beautiful piece of work. Sadness, regret and nostalgia are all words that spring to mind. This is perfect music for a rainy day when you need to wrap yourself in the ghosts of songs you used to know.
The standout track for me is “Rowan” but it’s hard to choose. Nice work Aneliya.
*Gdeto means “somewhere” in Russian.
