Kimi Kärki feat. Patrick Walker – Beyond Distance

Autumn has arrived early in Dublin, it’s my favourite time of year, the turning of the leaves, the first hint of cold(er) air on the breeze, the sad and beautiful days as the world dies quietly, almost imperceptibly. The coastline is deserted by the children of the summer’s end and the sea comes to life, wild, reckless and free. Which brings me to the new Kimi Kärki (of Lord Vicar fame) single “Beyond Distance”, and the lonely seascapes video, which put all this in my mind in the first place, for it is a beautifully sad acoustic ballad. Feel the chill in your bones.
