Eccentric Blabla – Bluebells and Marigold
“Bluebells and Marigold” is the new Wicker Man-esque single from Eccentric Blabla (apt). If ever there was a sinister beauty then this is the one. It’s a wonderfully melodic, freaked-out Tudor folk chant with a dangerous undercurrent of unease and we absolutely love it. The b-side, “A Secret Place” is a more straightforward but nonetheless charming summer whimsey. It should come as no surprise that the Eccentrics have pulled together folk (!?!?) from Friedrich Sunlight*, The Fairways/The Golden Eaves and Steve Train and His Bad Habits. The single is released on Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten as a limited, hand-numbered edition (122) on black vinyl, sleeve printed on heavy cardstock with lyric insert and download code.
*Kenji, do you remember the interview we sent you some time back? We’d still be delighted to get your answers:-)
