Blak Saagan – Cavalcando la Cometa 67P

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.”

Carl Sagan

Imagination is something that Samuele Gottardello aka Blak Saagan has in spades. His new LP “A Personal Voyage” is out on Friday on Maple Death Records. His music dedicated to the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space, directly inspired by the work of cosmologist and science popularizer Carl Sagan. It was recorded at home using a Farfisa Vip 202 R organ, Roland TR-606 drum machine and a Siel Orchestra synthesizer. I can only judge the record so far on having heard and hearing “Cavalcando la Cometa 67P” and I think Blak (we’re on first name terms) says it better than I could when he describes his music as “ambient, drones and library music as soundtrack for science documentaries, space explorations and hypnagogic experiences.” You know it transported me back to 1974 when I was just six and saw Star Trek for the first time. So Samuele, you can add time travel to your list of achievements. Really looking forward to hearing the full album.
