SWIT’s Long Player of the week: Idiot Mystic by Near Myth

Near Myth – Idiot Mystic

I’ve really fallen for Idiot Mystic the debut album by Near Myth from Melbourne Australia. Apart from knowing their way around great tunes what strikes me the most about this album is their ability to let each of the instruments breath. There isn’t layer upon layer of tracks. On this lp a simple drum roll, standalone vocal/guitar or synth break is used to fantastic dramatic effect. To put it simply they realise more is less. This is an impressive debut by a band that already know their sound and they’ve created an excellent piece of music here. Check it out guys you won’t be disappointed.
